Africa-Press – Seychelles. Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan joined other Heads of State for the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2022, held on Monday.
Ramkalawan arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, according to reports.
He also paid a visit to the Expo 2020 site, where Seychelles has also set up a stand.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week provides a platform for leaders from various fields – government, business and technology to discuss and support climate action and commitments to net zero.
The forum is the first major sustainability event after the COP26 climate change conference and acts as a global catalyst for COP27, which will be held in Egypt in 2022, and COP28, which will be hosted by the UAE in 2023.
