Economy, in May 2022, Seychelles authorized oil exploration in its exclusive economic zone. Seismic surveys are expected to determine the presence of oil reserves in an exploration block known as Juno, 115 km southeast of the main island of Mahé. Experts believe the data could reveal oil reserves of 500 million barrels off the Seychelles.
