To mark the International Day for the Prevention of Natural Disasters (Disaster Reduction Day), the Alliance Française welcomed the team of DRMD Seychelles (Disaster Risk Management Division) for the presentation of the prizes of its art competition and the opening official of his exposition. It’s Shania Pierre who won the star prize.
To raise awareness of the prevention of natural disasters, the DRMD had organized an art contest for primary and secondary schools in Seychelles. The winners were able to see their works exhibited at the Alliance, and they will remain until November 4.
Mr. Robert Ernesta, director general of the DRMD, congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue to help raise awareness of taking care of our environment.

The winners are Micah Felix from Baie Lazare Primary School (1st), Vanoushka Soazara from Bel Ombre Primary School (2nd), Jehden Boniface from Bel Ombre Primary School and recognition for their efforts are Saeed Yamaan and Ryby Mein de l’école primaire Bel Ombre.Category S1 to S2
The winners are Habeeba Rebuck (1st), Asher Rath (2nd) from Mont Fleuri secondary school, Keddy Toulon from Belonie secondary school and the recognition for their efforts was won by Lea Laboudalon from Beau Vallon secondary school.Category S3 to S4
The winners are Shania Pierre (1st) from Mont Fleuri secondary, Didiana Bristol (2nd) from Anse Boileau secondary, Emma Course (3rd) from Belonie secondary and the recognition for their effort was given to Naila Dodin from Anse Boileau secondary.Post-secondary category
The winners are Caleb Siméon from the Seychelles Institute of Technology and Aailah Dugasse from the Seychelles Institute of Art And Design.L’école de Bel Ombre primary won the prize of the best primary school and Mont Fleuri won the title of the best secondary school.
The winners all received a certificate, prizes with the H Savy Insurance company, STC vouchers and Alliance Française subscriptions.
The Alliance Française invites the public to visit the exhibition, free of charge, as well as the talent of this youth awakened to the future of its island.
