Africa-Press – Seychelles. The baptism of the Doll that took place on Saturday Domaine de Val des Pres attracted more than one hundred participants.

This event, which was organized by the Seychelles Heritage Foundation, was part of the Creole Festival activities.

It was Per Davis Mathiot (actor) who performed the ceremony (master of ceremony) and baptized more than thirty dolls.

The main doll, Paulette, was accompanied by her mother, father, father and godmother. The activity started with a serenade with all the children and adults with their puppets and puppets. There are dolls of all sizes and types.

Wilna Roseline’s wife, a member of the 3rd-az group, recalls that ‘Doll baptism’ was an activity that took place in Dimans a long time ago.

“There was no television and in Dimans the neighbors got together and organized this activity which was a tradition. Each one prepared a small meal and we had a serenade and then a small party until 8 pm. There were no problems and everything went well. I am happy that today this activity is starting again and we are passing on this knowledge to our young children.”

Mrs. Benjamine Rose, chief executive of the Seychelles Heritage Foundation, added that the Foundation’s purpose is to transmit knowledge, especially those that are being lost.

“That’s why today you see a number of children and adults mixed and they have seen the preparation of the Baptism of Dolls. Today, a hundred people have participated and the public as well as visitors have come by themselves.

Before the baptism, there was a mass hosted by Deacon Louis Agathine.

After the participants went to Rosa’s house to prepare puppets and cakes for the serenade.

The children of the Heritage Club and the adults who are used to participating in foundation activities also participated in this very successful activity.

Sima Khayar and Hadu Haddad, a couple who won a lucky draw in the Dubai Show for a visit to Seychelles, also participated in this activity and were well appreciated and entertained.

They love this good Creole cake with papaya jam.

The day ended with a small Creole ball until 6 pm.
