Ahmad Arrisol was the best rider of the Seychellois team, the Union Cycliste des Seychelles, on the roads during the 42nd Tour de Mauritius 2022 sponsored by Skoda and won hands down by the Mauritian Christopher Lagane who has become the new patron of cycling Mauritian

Arissol completed the 6 long stages of 485.3 kilometers in a cumulative time of 13 hours 17 minutes and 43 seconds (13h17″43) or a gap of 1h07″49 on the first in the general classification, the Mauritian Christopher Lagane of the Team MBC, with a cumulative time of 12h09″54

Aged 24, Lagane beat the Frenchman Maxime Jolly by 2 minutes and 45 seconds (12h12″39) while Alexandre Mayer, also from Team MCB, finished third at 3 minutes and 54 seconds (12h13″48 ).

This is the second year in a row that Lagane has won the Tour de Maurice after his first victory last year. He won three stages in five days and contributed to that of his teammate Aurélien de Comarmond during the last circuit in Sorèze.

Four other young Seychellois cyclists participated in the Tour de Maurice. Jahdel Gabriel took the 57th place with a cumulative time of 14h03″40, a gap of 1h53″46 on the first; Jayden Sinon (61st with a cumulative time of 14h24″03, 2h14″09 away from the winner); Stephen Belle (65th with a cumulative time of 14h41″15, a gap of 2h31″21 on the winner); while Yohan Monthy did not cover the 485.3 kilometers in five days.

In total, 67 cyclists completed the Tour.

In the youth classification won by the French Maxime Jolly in 12h12″39, Jahdel Gabriel finished 23rd, Jayden Sinon 26th and Stephen Belle 27th.

It is the selection of Maurice MCB with a time of 36h43″28 which took the first place on the team ranking table followed in second and third places by Team Haute Savoie (37h29″32) and Vélo Club des St Denis (37h45″22).

The Union Cycliste des Seychelles team finished in 15th and last place with 41h27″34, or 4h44″06 behind the winning team.

The Seychellois team was coached by Francis Louis, himself a former cyclist who defended the colors of Seychelles on the routes of the islands of the Indian Ocean and on the continent of Africa.
