Africa-Press – Seychelles. Yesterday, the honorary consuls who are currently in the country made visits to all the districts of Seychelles.
They were accompanied by district administrators and elected members of the National Assembly. They first had a meeting with the elected members of the National Assembly and district administrators by region. Then, they went to the districts they adopted to see the progress made with their own eyes.
They were all very surprised by the management of the district administrators. Seychelles NATION met three of the honorary consuls to get their opinion after their visits.
The administrator of the district of Les Mamelles, Claudette Louise spoke on behalf of the other administrators of this central region, which includes the districts of Mont Fleuri, Plaisance, Les Mamelles and Roche-Caïman. “We had the visit of 10 honorary consuls and they were accompanied by their district administrators and their elected members of the National Assembly. It was a great opportunity for us to have a dialogue with these honorary consuls and they were able to see our projects with the hope that they will collaborate with us to realize some of our projects such as the beautification of our grounds games, appropriate books and games for our children. Now with this link established, we hope for the best for the Seychelles.”
For his part, the honorary consul of Quebec, Canada Gérard Le Chêne said he was very satisfied with this visit and he had visited the district of Plaisance. “We met an extremely motivated team and they showed us the opportunities, the possibilities and there was a great opening. I believe that opportunities for collaboration between the two countries are possible.
Dr. Rashid Trimeche, honorary consul of Tunisia, visited the district of Roche Cayman. “What interested me is the motivation of the administrator who is incredible. It’s another civilization and they take it all seriously. It motivates the person who will collaborate. As I am in medicine and culture, I am more interested in the development of culture in the district. Perhaps I will be able to help with cultural magazines that I will send through the Paris embassy. Chapeau à ses dames et allez Seychelles ».
The dean of consuls, Juan Gaspard Solves of Barcelona, Spain visited, as for him, the Mamelles. “We were more concrete during our visit and as I was one of the presidents of the Club de Barcelona, in a month, the football coach of Les Mamelles will leave Barcelona and will be the coach of Barcelona pending at least ten days Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world and if they see opportunities for young Seychellois, we will open an academy here in Seychelles. For this we will convince the club after the visit of the Seychellois coach.
M. Solves noted that this type of academy exists in other countries. He will also see how to help the district to acquire basketball equipment. “For me, this activity for the honorary consuls was wonderful. Now the consuls know what to do and how to do it. The only thing I advise the consuls is to honor their engagements. We are also very impressed by the leadership of President Wavel Ramkalawan and Minister Sylvestre Radegonde.
The visits everywhere in the districts have been a great success and the Department of Foreign Affairs has done everything for the honorary consuls to spend a productive time in the districts.
