Africa-Press – Seychelles. China donated a ship Escort in the Seychelles
As a last sign of solidarity before her departure, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Her Excellency Madame Guo Wei signed last Friday with the Chief of Defense Forces, Brigadier Michael Rosette, a military protocol on the donation of an escort ship to the General Staff of the Seychelles Defense Forces.
During the signing ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the Defense Forces in Bel Eau, Brigadier Rosette thanked Ambassador Guo for this beautiful gesture of solidarity that is part of the military assistance that China is constantly attached to the Seychelles.
“This new ship will allow us to carry out more patrols in order to protect our economic zone from illegal activities, which will participate in the defense of the country’s interests,” he added.
He seized this opportunity to wish the Chinese diplomat good luck in his new duties upon his departure from the Seychelles, where he has already stayed for a little over four years.
Ambassador Guo said she was honored to sign this last protocol before her departure from the Seychelles which, she added, “will contribute to maritime security”. She revealed, on this occasion, that in the next few days a technical team will arrive from China to undertake maintenance work on the ship PS Etoile.
“I remember visiting Aldabra on PS Etoile and it was a real pleasure to experience this experience,” she said.
It should be noted that the signing ceremony of this protocol took place in the presence of senior officers of the Seychelles Defense Forces and senior officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
