Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Seychelles Head of State, President Wavel Ramkalawan, received this Friday in audience at State House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, the Honorable Moustadroine Abdou.

The visit of the Honorable Moustadroine Abdou and the delegation accompanying him is part of the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association of Parliamentarians of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) in Seychelles from 23 to May 26, 2023 and the meeting of the Presidents of the National Assembly of the member countries of Seychelles, Mauritius, Comoros and Madagascar.

The purpose of the meeting of the Executive Committee was to validate the statutes, the rules of procedure and the joint declaration, to be submitted afterwards to the conference of presidents of the National Assembly.

President Ramkalawan welcomed the honorable Comorian parliamentarian and expressed the wish that the meeting take place in the spirit of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness which has always characterized relations between the countries of the sub-Saharan Africa. region. He also expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the cooperation ties that unite the two countries and expressed his willingness to do everything possible to see relations strengthen further in the well-understood interest of the populations of the two countries united by a bundle of fairly strong ties.

The two senior leaders also discussed the situation between Mayotte, the Union of Comoros and France.

It should be noted that the President of the National Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, the Honorable Moustadroine Abdou was accompanied during this courtesy visit by his adviser, Mr. Abdoulwahab Ali Aziri.
