The Division of Elderly and Disabled People in the Department of the Family is starting the portrait process to make cards (fast track cards) that will be introduced for people with a disability to facilitate their access to services offered by government and private institutions in the country.
This will start by region where the first on the list is the central region where the portrait shooting session to put on the map will be done at the English River community center and the Roche Caiman community center. These portrait shooting sessions will start on Monday, July 3, 2023 and continue on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 between 9 am and 2 pm at the English River community center and Wednesday, July 5, 2023 until Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the same time at the Roche Caiman community center.
In a small conversation with the press yesterday afternoon at the English River community center, the director of the Elderly and Disability Division, Marco Jerry, said that all the criteria procedures for the qualified groups have been completed and that they are in the process of shooting portraits for those groups. people who live with a disability can get their card.
“Anyone who does not have the sense to register at our office, to be able to do it during these times when we are shooting portraits if they have their documents including identity cards and medical documents that certify that they live with is disabled. This will give them the sense to also shoot portraits to get their ‘fast-track’ cards,” Mr. Jerry said.
Mr. Jerry said that according to statistics from the Social Protection Agency, there are around 1961 people on the list of people living with a disability in the country and fifty-five of those registered for this card in the central region.
He added that when they finish with the central region, they will go to the southern region and then the other regions that they will announce later.
“For people who can’t walk to come themselves or who have transportation difficulties, we will offer this service at their place to shoot portraits so that they can get their fast-track cards. I also encourage people with disabilities and their families to come and assist them when they come to shoot their portraits and other procedures related to this card,” Mr. Jerry added.
It is the company ‘Printit’ based in Orion Mall that got the contract to make this card.
