Africa-Press – Seychelles. It was with great satisfaction and in a joyful atmosphere that Loïs Sinon and his wife Francine Sinon (nee Albert) celebrated their Nosdor (50th wedding anniversary) in a small reception at the parish center of St. Joseph, Anse Royale, on Tuesday evening, July 11, 2023 .

The ceremony to celebrate their Nosdor began in St. Joseph’s church where the couple got married 50 years ago on July 11, 1973.

At that time, the parish priest, well known as Per Marcelin, blessed their marriage.

On Tuesday, the parish priest, Per Colin Underwood and Per Roger De Commarmond gave Mr. Sinon, aged 73, and Mrs. Sinon, aged 68, their blessing after they had renewed their vows.

This took place in the presence of their children, young children, relatives and close friends.

In his sermon to honor the commitment of Mr. and Mrs. Sinon for all these years that they have been together, Per Colin asked God to pray for them and to watch over their health so that they can celebrate many more wedding anniversaries together.

According to Mr. Sinon, it all started for him when he noticed a pretty girl who appeared in front of him in a shop near the St. Joseph church where he was employed.

At that time Mrs. Sinon, who was a resident of Mont Plaisir, was still a teacher at Anse Royale secondary school and also a teacher in the choir of St. Joseph church.

Mr. Sinon was a resident of Les Canelles.

Fodre notes that Mrs. Sinon has been a servant of the church since that time until today.

“I was happy to see it when it came to the store but after that for a long time I did not see it again. One day unexpectedly, I saw him come to the shop and it was there that I decided to talk to him. Since that day we have stopped contact and everything went well between us until we got the approval of our parents to get married. I am very happy that we have been together for all this time. I thank him a lot and I also thank God a lot for all the miracles they have done in my life,” Mr. Sinon said.

Sinon’s wife said that it was love and fidelity between them, supported by the presence of God, that they turned to him for his guidance, which made them last 50 years of married life.

This couple has five children including two sons – Mike and Jim Sinon – and three daughters – Thelma, Nelly and Jane Sinon who live abroad.

They also have six children, including a seventh who will be born soon.

“As everyone knows, married life is not easy, but with the presence of God in our lives, we have succeeded in overcoming all obstacles and I am really happy that we have been able to keep together this sacred vow that we made 50 years ago. passed,” Mrs. Sinon said.

Seeing that one of her sons is married, Mrs. Sinon hopes that the rest of her children will follow the same example.
