
Africa-Press – Seychelles. Visiting the Seychelles since last weekend, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Seychelles, Mgr Tomasz Grysa, met this Thursday at Maison Quéau de Quinssy with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde.
During these talks, the Apostolic Nuncio pledged to strengthen cooperation between the Nunciature and Seychelles in the field of the fight against drugs.
The Vatican ambassador was accompanied by the Bishop Emeritus of Porto Nacional, Brazil, Msgr. Romualdo Kujawskihe, who has a lot of experience in the field.
The two prelates made a brief presentation of their experiences in this fight, in particular their strategy which has proven its worth in the field of rehabilitation in two dioceses of Brazil through the “Farm of Hope”. This action, which is known throughout the world, has been able to help many addicts to rebuild themselves and to integrate into society.
“It is an experience that changes the whole person. Through the meetings and consultations we had with the various organizations concerned, we can conclude that we had a good reception to start this cooperation,” they said.
Minister Radegonde recalled that the fight against drugs and the rehabilitation of addicts are at the heart of national priorities and require the support of all partners. He thanked the two prelates for sharing their experiences and support.”When we manage to overcome this challenge of consumption and addiction and ensure integration by means other than drugs, it will be a great message that we will send to the rest of the world to tell them that change is possible” , said Minister Radegonde.
