Africa-Press – Seychelles. During a ceremony organized on Friday September 22, 2023 at the Elysée Palace, Paris, France, Mr. Georges Tirant presented to President Emmanuel Macron the letters accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles to of the French Republic.
The ceremony was followed by a short interview during which the Seychellois diplomat conveyed the warm greetings of President Ramkalawan and the Seychellois people to President Macron.
The two high-ranking personalities then discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation as well as issues of common interest at the regional and international levels, with regard to peace and environmental protection, without forgetting the challenges linked to climate change faced by Small Island Developing States.
Ambassador Tirant welcomed “exercising his new functions in a sister country with which the Seychelles shares so many links and an ancient history and maintains a fairly strong relationship of friendship”, before committing to further strengthening during his mandate “diplomatic relations, economic cooperation as well as ties of friendship between the two countries. »
