Africa-Press – Seychelles. As every year, a large crowd of people gathered yesterday on La Digue to participate in the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
It all started with a mass presided over by Bishop Alain Harel from the Catholic Diocese, together with other Catholic priests from La Digue and Praslin. Many people who had even come from MaheĢ and Praslin had also dressed in blue or white for the occasion, in honor of the Virgin Mary.
During his press release, Bishop Harel elaborated a little more on the first reading from the book of Revelation, written by St. John. He pointed out that at that time, Christians were living in persecution because of the Roman Empire and it was at this time that St. John wrote this book to tell Christians to hold on and keep hope because the Lord is with them.
