At around 1pm, the team arrived at the United Seychelles (US) party headquarters, Maison du Peuple, where a large group of supporters had gathered on the road, pavements, the building’s steps and the field opposite, to celebrate the party’s victory in the National Assembly after winning 19 seats.
Among the jubilant supporters was Kelly Bertin, a young first-time voter, who shared her excitement. “I’m very happy that we won in the National Assembly, and I’m certain that we can do it again in the Presidential election on October 11,” she said.
