Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Seychelles College past students of Biology will certainly remember Canadian national, Brother Henri Hebert, an outstanding teacher who sadly passed away on December 8, at the age of 92 in Montreal, Canada.

We particularly remember him as a sports enthusiast who was remarkably good at organising various Inter-House competitions. He was fond of table tennis which he was very good at, perhaps among the best in Seychelles at that time. In Montreal, during his retirement, he continued playing table tennis even coaching it. They called him ‘Frère PING-PONG’.

Upon leaving Seychelles, he went to teach in various countries like Japan, Philippines, Uganda, Tanzania and Uruguay before retiring at La Prairie, the Brothers’ Maison-Mère, in Montreal where he consecrated some of his time teaching English and French to immigrants.

We offer our sincere condolences to his family and to his Congregation. “Come to Me, faithful servant. You have fought the good fight and you have kept the Faith.’”

May his dear soul rest in peace. We greatly value his enormous contribution towards the education of our youth for which we are most grateful.
