Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Nine 2nd year learners following the Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management programme, cohort 2022-2023, are on a six-month internship in Mauritius.<\/b><\/p>\n

The group, who left the country on Saturday, are expected back on January 27, 2023.<\/p>\n

The initial group comprised 13 students. Out of the group, nine have proceeded to Mauritius, while the remaining four have opted to pursue their internship locally.<\/p>\n

When in Mauritius the group is to be divided into two. One group will be based at Constance Belle Mare Plage and the other at Constance Prince Maurice.<\/p>\n

The Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management (ADHM) is offered by the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) in collaboration with Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland, a College of the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway. It is a three-year management training programme.<\/p>\n

The second year of the ADHM training programme is a 12-month operative work placement. The overseas placement is an essential part of the programme as it plays a very important role in the students\u2019 personal and professional development.<\/p>\n

The placement is structured as follows: six months specialisation in Mauritius and six-month rotation in local internship.<\/p>\n

The learners are expected to cover the following departments: kitchen, restaurant and bar, housekeeping and front office.<\/p>\n

On arrival in Mauritius the learners were welcomed by representatives from both host hotels and the Constance Academy at the Constance Prince Maurice Hotel.<\/p>\n

Following feedback received from the class representative over the weekend, interns at Constance Mauritius have settled well and are ready and looking forward to start their attachment.<\/p>\n

The management and staff of the STA wish all the interns a fruitful attachment.<\/p>\n
