Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Tourism Academy, Grand Anse Praslin secondary and Beau Vallon primary big winners of the competition<\/b><\/p>\n

During the final of the oral expression competition whose theme was \u2018Tourism, culture and sustainable development\u2019, the following institutions won the first prize: The Tourism Academy, Grand Anse Praslin secondary and Beau Vallon primary.<\/p>\n

This year is the fourth edition of the French expression contest, which is one of the flagship activities of Tourism Week. This activity is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism and the National Commission of La Francophonie.It was launched in June 2022 and saw the participation of several primary, secondary institutions and professional centers.<\/p>\n

After hearing the students for a day Friday at the National Theater in Mont Fleuri, the results are as follows:<\/p>\n

Primary: 1st prize \u2013 Beau Vallon, 2nd prize \u2013 Mont Fleuri, and 3rd prize \u2013 Bel Ombre.<\/p>\n

Secondary: 1st prize \u2013 Grand Anse Praslin, 2nd prize \u2012 La Digue, and 3rd prize \u2012 Pointe Larue<\/p>\n

Professional centres: 1st prize \u2012 The Tourism Academy, 2nd prize \u2013 SITE, and 3rd prize \u2012 SALS.The prizes were awarded by the Minister of Education, Dr Justin Valentin, the Principal Secretary Merna Eulentin, the directors \u2013 Cyril Pillay, Bernard Arnephie and Jutta Alexis; Bernadette Willemin, Director General of the Destination Marketing Division within the Department of Tourism, and representatives from Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay, and Four Seasons hotels.<\/p>\n

Among the gifts received, the students had excursions, dinners, lunches, culinary experiences and days spent in hotels.<\/p>\n

Ms. Miera Savy, Secretary General of the National Commission of La Francophonie said she was very satisfied with this activity. \u201cIt is not completely true to say that children do not like French. These are just excuses! Hearing these children and young people debate and present their ideas in French was a pleasure for the ears. This is in parallel with the motivation of the teachers, the teachers are more and more motivated to prepare the students and you could see the work that has been done by the teams. If we continue on this journey, French will regain its place as one of the national languages \u200b\u200bof the country,\u201d concluded Ms. Savy.<\/p>\n
