Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>No one knows what lies ahead for us.<\/b><\/p>\n

As the month of October \u2012 Breast Cancer Awareness month \u2012 ended and a host of activities having been organised to support those going through such challenging times, male cancer patient Joel Bacco would like to pay tribute to all the doctors, nurses, friends and family members who have helped change his life.<\/p>\n

He was a healthy gentleman and after feeling some discomfort in his throat he decided to visit the doctor and was diagnosed with cancer last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was surprised. It really rocked my world. But I jumped into treatment immediately,\u201d said Bacco.<\/p>\n

“I know it was God but with the help and great knowledge of the doctors and nurses, my life has been saved. I do not think it was an accident that you were the ones on call when I needed help and treatment so badly. Your compassionate attention and professional care saved me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Adding: \u201cThe amount of support that I\u2019ve received from my immediate family and friends is beyond words. I\u2019m humbled by all the phone calls, texts and visits. I appreciate you all. I will never be able to express my heartfelt gratitude. I am truly blessed to have an amazing support system. Thank you to my friends and colleagues who check on me. Thanks again, you all make me proud to be a Seychellois!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you Minister Peggy Vidot, PS Bernard Valentin, Dr Danny Louange chief executive of the Health Care Agency, the Overseas Diagnosis and Treatment Board, Dr Johanna, Dr Dayelin, Dr Yancho, nurses Maggie Morel, Marie Ange Michel, Yvonne Telemaque, Lucie Quilindo, Lorna Jeremie, Miss Charlette, Miss Moumou, nursing assistants Anasell Marengo, Marguerita Songoire, laboratory and pharmacy staff of the Seychelles Hospital, friends and family members. To the housekeeper at the Seychelles Hospital who lent me a Bible the night I was admitted because I was seeking for one to pray since the next day I was supposed to start my chemotherapy for the first time. And to all whom I may have missed. Thank you!<\/p>\n
