{"id":18110,"date":"2022-11-10T18:13:46","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T18:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/iconographic-heritage-of-the-indian-ocean-launch-of-artist-residencies"},"modified":"2022-11-10T18:48:50","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T18:48:50","slug":"iconographic-heritage-of-the-indian-ocean-launch-of-artist-residencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/iconographic-heritage-of-the-indian-ocean-launch-of-artist-residencies","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Iconographic heritage of the Indian Ocean&#8221;: Launch of artist residencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Department of La Re\u0301union, through its digital cultural service, the Iconothe\u0300que historique de l&#8217;Oce\u0301an Indien (IHOI) has launched an innovative initiative proposing residencies for international artists devoted to the &#8220;Iconographic Heritage of the Indian Ocean&#8221; , thanks to the European structural funds of FEDER INTERREG V and the network of iconographers of the Indian Ocean.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Residences, traits of union between &#8220;creation&#8221; and &#8220;iconographic heritage&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These residences affirm the will of the Department &#8211; IHOI to support the emerging artistic creation of the Indian Ocean while offering it special conditions of expression, training and research.<\/p>\n<p>They honor Indian Ocean heritage institutions and their funds, which constitute an original and fragile heritage.<\/p>\n<p>An artist, a corpus of images, a territory, a month<\/p>\n<p>From October 10 to November 10, 2022, the Iconothe\u0300que historique de l&#8217;Oce\u0301an Indien will receive all applications by mail to the address: ihoi@cg974.fr. Only six artists from Re\u0301union, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Seychelles and Mozambique will be awarded a creative grant in order to highlight the collections available on the website of the Iconothe\u0300que historique de l&#8217;Oce\u0301an Indien around two disciplines. \u2012 visual arts and writing.<\/p>\n<p>A jury composed of members of the project&#8217;s partner institutions will meet in mid-November in order to select the best performing artists in this creative, cultural and patrimonial approach.<\/p>\n<p>The time of creation will last one month, between the month of December 2022 and that of April 2023.
