Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>A second part of the Seychellois delegation flew to Maurice<\/b><\/p>\n

A second group of athletes and officials left the Seychelles yesterday morning for Mauritius to participate in the 12th Games of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Oce\u0301an Indien (CJSOI) from 4 to 11 December.<\/p>\n

They are weightlifters, boxers and tennis players who made the trip yesterday accompanied by two young entrepreneurs, namely Jean-Michel Vidot and Kelly Mein, journalists and cameramen from two television stations – Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) and Te\u0301le\u0301sesel \u2012 and representatives of the National Youth Council.<\/p>\n

For the first time, a counselor from the Quality of Life division within the family department \u2012 Beryl McGavin-Hoareau \u2012 accompanies the athletes.<\/p>\n

A total of 200 Seychellois, the second largest delegation after the host country, Mauritius, will participate in these Games.<\/p>\n

The first part of the delegation, which included sailing athletes, had left the country on November 28. The large delegation must fly to the sister island tomorrow, Saturday, December 3.<\/p>\n

The Seychelles representatives will return on December 14 and 15.<\/p>\n

The official opening of the games will take place on Sunday, December 4.<\/p>\n

The Seychellois flag bearers for these Games will be Gae\u0308l Barreau and Khema Elizabeth, and the head of the delegation will be Monsieur Alain Alcindor.<\/p>\n

There are eleven disciplines of competition in the program, all open to girls and boys. Namely: athletics and handicap athletics, beach handball, boxing, futsal, weightlifting, swimming, petanque, tennis, table tennis, triathlon and sailing. The Seychellois will participate in all the disciplines in the program – except the triathlon.<\/p>\n

To point out that during the last edition, the Seychelles won 11 medals including three gold.<\/p>\n
