{"id":20045,"date":"2022-12-03T12:38:06","date_gmt":"2022-12-03T12:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/43rd-comesa-meeting-of-intergovernmental-committee-and-43rd-council-of-ministers-meeting"},"modified":"2022-12-03T12:38:06","modified_gmt":"2022-12-03T12:38:06","slug":"43rd-comesa-meeting-of-intergovernmental-committee-and-43rd-council-of-ministers-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/43rd-comesa-meeting-of-intergovernmental-committee-and-43rd-council-of-ministers-meeting","title":{"rendered":"43rd Comesa Meeting of Intergovernmental Committee and 43rd Council of Ministers meeting."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span><b>High Commissioner Claude Morel represents Seychelles<\/b><\/p>\n<p>High Commissioner Claude Morel, based in Pretoria, South Africa, and Permanent Representative to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa), represented Seychelles at the meetings of the 43rd Intergovernmental Committee and Council of Ministers held in Lusaka, Zambia, from November 29 to December 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The meetings, held under the theme of \u2018Building Resilience through Strategic Digital Economic Integration\u2019, allowed member states to review progress of several Comesa programmes directed at enhancing regional integration across the region.<\/p>\n<p>Interventions in the meetings centered on the role Seychelles has played in supporting specific activities under Comesa, such as Intra-African Trade and Infrastructure Programmes, as well as reaffirming the country\u2019s commitment through continuous support for these initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Seychelles delegation requested that the modalities that are specific to island states be taken into consideration.
