{"id":21383,"date":"2022-12-24T09:45:16","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T09:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/sptc-ceo-retires-from-public-service"},"modified":"2022-12-24T10:25:00","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T10:25:00","slug":"sptc-ceo-retires-from-public-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/sptc-ceo-retires-from-public-service","title":{"rendered":"SPTC CEO retires from public service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span><b>The chief executive of the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC), Patrick Vel, will be retiring from public service at the end of this month after a long, successful career in leadership positions spanning various public enterprises.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a short ceremony on Thursday December 22, the Minister for Transport, Anthony Derjacques, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Mr Vel in the presence of the principal secretaries in the Ministry of Transport \u2013 PS Alain Renaud and PS Patrick Andre; SPTC board members \u2013 chairman Andy Moncherry, Cecily Derjacques, Alain Kilindo; and chief operations officer for SPTC, Geffy Zialor.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Vel was appointed as CEO of SPTC in 2016 and retires after six years of leading the company. Minister Derjacques led the commendations for Mr Vel, thanking him for his length of service and the various successful projects that have been implemented during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCEO Vel still has a lot to offer and while we wish him well for the next chapter of his life, I am sure that we can still harness his expertise and experience in other forums,\u201d Minister Derjacques said.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Andy Moncherry also took the opportunity to congratulate Mr Vel for his leadership and expressed his gratitude for Mr Vel\u2019s ability to inculcate a conducive environment with the SPTC board and ensure smooth operations between them.<\/p>\n<p>His sentiment was echoed by the members of the SPTC board present before Mr Zialor also thanked Mr Vel on behalf of SPTC executives and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Derjacques presented Mr Vel with a token of appreciation for his service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\">Seychelles<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles.
