{"id":21395,"date":"2022-12-24T09:54:29","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T09:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/gospel-show-sets-scene-for-christmas"},"modified":"2022-12-24T10:27:03","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T10:27:03","slug":"gospel-show-sets-scene-for-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/gospel-show-sets-scene-for-christmas","title":{"rendered":"Gospel Show sets scene for Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span><b>Helps to spread message of love and peace<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Gospel lovers converged at the Victoria Gymnasium on Wednesday afternoon to sing along in a show organised by the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Melodi Lafanmiy\u2019 choir from Grand Anse Mahe\u2019s St Famille Church, Christ Followers Church, and SNYC\u2019s \u2018Connect platform\u2019, set up in March and which brings together youths with different beliefs and religious background, came together to perform and praise their lord in the one and a half hour show.<\/p>\n<p>The re\u0301pertoire included \u2018Papa Vin Sov Nou Pei\u2019 by Stana and Theresia which kicked off the event, followed by performances from \u2018Melodi Lafanmiy\u2019 Choir namely; \u2018Sant Avek bann Arkanz\u2019, \u2018Les Mon Loue Mon Bondye\u2019 \u2018Pwisans Lanmour\u2019, as well as the popular song from Christopher, \u2018Sa Moman Spesyal\u2019, and young singer Mary Monde who sang \u2018Zenn Leve Pour Zezi\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to Youth Officer, Juliana Toussaint, who was coordinating the event, SNYC wanted to do a meaningful event that brought the young people together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe felt it was ideal that our members from different churches came together as part of our monthly encounter activity and this time we added the gospel element, where they could sing along and bring cheer to other people,\u201d she told Seychelles NATION.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Toussaint said they managed to rope in some other groups and they have been rehearsing since November to ensure the show was a success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am satisfied with the output and the quality because they all gave their best. Unfortunately, although we advertised on all available medium we did not get that many people attending the event,\u201d said Mrs Toussaint.<\/p>\n<p>The SNYC has thanked all those who turned up for the show for their support and Mrs Toussaint said they plan to do a bigger one outdoors next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause we did not get that much participation, the participants felt that we should do a repeat.
