Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>As at Tuesday January 3 there were 41 active cases of Covid-19 in the country, the majority of which were on Mahe\u0301.<\/b><\/p>\n

As per information released by the Ministry of Health, 34 cases are on Mahe\u0301, six on Praslin while one was on La Digue.<\/p>\n

Of the districts with reported active cases, all have five or fewer cases, and no patients are admitted to hospital as a result of the infection.<\/p>\n

The 7-day rolling average is 3 cases.<\/p>\n

Thus far, the total number of Covid deaths had reached 172.<\/p>\n

The public are still being urged to remain vigilant and to continue taking personal responsibility so as to prevent respiratory infection.<\/p>\n

While facemasks are not mandatory, the policies of different organisations may require a person to wear one in a bid to help prevent transmission of respiratory infections, especially in enclosed spaces.<\/p>\n

The public are further advised to avoid mingling with others in the event that they have respiratory symptoms, while those who test positive for Covid-19 are to stay in isolation for 7 days.<\/p>\n
