Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Members of Team Seychelles taking part in the Special Olympics World Games to be held in Berlin, Germany from June 16 \u2013 25, June received their plane tickets yesterday from chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Marc Arissol.<\/b><\/p>\n

Athletes Anil Quatre and Aleandro Croise\u0301e accepted the plane tickets on behalf of their colleagues during a small ceremony at the Family House, at Bel Eau, in the presence of principal secretary for Youth and Sports, Ralph Jean-Louis, national coordinator for Special Olympics Seychelles Hellen Ernesta, head coach Erica Celeste and sports director for Special Olympics Seychelles Gordon Boodna.<\/p>\n

Other than Quatre and Croise\u0301e who will take part in athletics and bocce respectively at the Games, Seychelles\u2019 other athletes are Donelle Ernesta (girls athletics), Jean-Marc de Silva (boys athletics), Graham Jacques, Agnielle Charlette (from La Digue), Peter Valentin, Maggie Estico (from Praslin), Suzie Sarakkya (from Mahe) \u2013 (bocce), and Richard Sophola (power lifting).<\/p>\n

They will be accompanied by head coach Celeste, coaches Olivier Nibourette, Vincent Cedras, Rency Balgobin, Jean Vardin, Ms Ernesta (head of delegation), Raymonde Onezime (assistant head of delegation) and Dr Mickey Noel (medical).<\/p>\n

For Seychelles representatives at the World Games, the country received ten quotas, including six bocce players (three male and three female), three track and field athletes (two male and one female), along with one power lifter.<\/p>\n

For bocce, a pair has been picked from the three main islands, while for athletics, the names of all first-place finishers in the various events were put in a bag, where three names were picked.<\/p>\n

The male and female athletes\u2019 names were put into different bags for a fair selection process.<\/p>\n
