Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) actively took part in initiatives by the Ministry of Education to mark this year\u2019s Careers Week held between July 10 and 14, 2023 under the theme \u2018Change The Trend, Explore New Career Opportunities\u2019.<\/b><\/p>\n

Among the different activities conducted to build awareness about the week and highlight the various roles one can opt for when joining the world of work, this year SRC proudly joined the Ministry of Education\u2019s Careers Fair held at the Camion Hall in Victoria by presenting an exciting stand at the event.<\/p>\n

Held on July 10 and 11, the fair attended by students from various schools in Seychelles, provided SRC with the opportunity to not only inspire the students through the various career opportunities available in Tax and Customs, but to also engage with the students on their studying plans to grow and build a future with the organisation through its learning and development programmes.<\/p>\n

The students also had the chance to gain an in-depth insight on the function of the organisation, its purpose and importance for the country and contributions they benefit through Tax collection.<\/p>\n

A group of dedicated officers hailing from the Human Resource Section, Training and Development Unit as well as from the Taxpayer Education and Service Delivery Unit were on site throughout the two-day event, meeting with the students to also answer their queries, clarify their doubts about the subjects and qualifications required to join respective fields within the organisation.<\/p>\n

In addition to the fair, to further build and enhance SRC\u2019s engagement with the Ministry of Education, last week on July 13 and 14 respectively, SRC opened its doors on Mahe\u0301, to 29 students from the Belonie, Beau Vallon, Perseverance, Plaisance and English River secondary schools on a tour of its facilities.<\/p>\n

The half-day session conducted at its headquarters in Maison Collet, also covered Unity House, Sunshine House and Airport Cargo Terminal. Accompanied by their teachers, the group of S3, S4,and S5 students had the chance to attend an introductory session about the organisation which was followed by a general overview of the different premises, including meeting with key SRC officers working within the different sections and units, learning about their career journey thus far and their experience as part of the SRC family.<\/p>\n

To note, among the units visited, SRC\u2018s Customs Entry Processing Unit and Air Cargo Examination Unit, Administration, Revenue, Legal, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Audit and Customs – Bond and Excise Section, were some of the main units that caught the attention of the students who also used the time to question the staff who were on site during the visit<\/p>\n
