\u201cMagnify the Games and strengthen your bonds of friendship,\u201d said Ms. Caroline St-Hilaire, administrator of the International Organization of La Francophonie.<\/p>\n

To start the official activities of the 9th Francophonie Games in Kinshasa, Congo which will be held from July 28 to August 6, 2023, the National Games Committee organized, yesterday afternoon at the International Media Center, Palais du Peuple in Kinshasa, a press conference to launch this great event which brings together the French-speaking countries of the world.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Communication, Patrick Muyaya Katembwe said he was very satisfied with the organization of the Games in general. \u201cI ask the Congolese to bring the flags of the country to carry high the image of the DRC. This is one of the challenges that our country has taken up and we assure you all that security is our priority,\u201d Minister Katembwe said.<\/p>\n

To ensure that everything is in order, three ministers and the chiefs of police visited all the places \/ locations of the activities.<\/p>\n

During the conference journalists from several parts of the world had the chance to see the official spot of the Games.<\/p>\n

The national director of the CNJF committee, Mr. Isidore Kwandja Ngembo noted that everything has been put in place for the safety of the athletes in the first place and the police have had special sessions to ensure the safety of all.<\/p>\n

We also saw a video of the city of Kinshasa.<\/p>\n

The director of the CIJF, Mrs Zeina Mina and the administrator of the OIF Mrs Caroline St-Hilaire addressed the press as well as the guests.<\/p>\n

The city of Kinshasa, capital of the DRC and host city of the IX Games of La Francophonie, has more than 17 million inhabitants with French as the official language.<\/p>\n

Kinshasa is the largest French-speaking city in the world. Only 8 hours by plane from the European continent, the region of Kinshasa and its superb nature await you for surprising and exotic discoveries.<\/p>\n

Kinshasa has a rich folklore and traditions, but it is also a large, young and dynamic city with its modern banking services, its comfortable hotels, and its numerous sporting and cultural facilities and various urban tourist sites.<\/p>\n

The city is a mosaic of typical Congolese neighborhoods, mixing colonial heritage, Congolese traditions and modernity.<\/p>\n
