Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The world’s largest floating book fair, Logos Hope, is expected in Seychelles from August 10 to 17, 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n

The vessel will dock at the New Port, Victoria, welcoming visitors and clients alike.<\/p>\n

Logos Hope, a former ferry converted into a passenger ship, boasts impressive dimensions, with a length of 132 metres and a width of 21 metres. It has the capacity to accommodate up to 442 passengers and currently houses around 350 people.<\/p>\n

Over the past 14 years, this remarkable ship has welcomed more than 9 million visitors and has travelled to over 80 countries, visiting a total of over 220 ports. The ship is capable of cruising at a speed of 8-10 knots, equivalent to 14-18 km\/h.<\/p>\n

During the book fair, the vessel can accommodate between 800-1000 visitors along with its passengers.<\/p>\n

In addition to the book fair, Logos Hope offers an international cafe\u0301 where visitors can indulge in various beverages like coffee, water, juice, and snacks such as ice-cream, doughnuts, and popcorn.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the ship is equipped with two conference rooms, the Hope Theatre, and the Logos Lounge, where different events are hosted for the public and invited guests during their port stays.<\/p>\n

The department of Culture is a proud partner during Logos Hope’s visit, and it will be showcasing cultural performances during the ship’s arrival.<\/p>\n

Adding to the significance of the occasion, the President will grace the opening ceremony as the guest of honour.<\/p>\n

Project coordinator Sarah Mu\u0308ller, on behalf of the Logos Hope team, expressed, \u201cWe are honoured to welcome him on board the Logos Hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event itinerary features \u2018Meet the World\u2019, providing an opportunity for visitors to engage with over 60 nationalities on board and share each other’s diverse cultures. It includes captivating performances, including dance, from all cultures on board.<\/p>\n

Ms Mu\u0308ller expressed, \u201cIt is a beautiful chance to open your mind and get a taste of the diversity represented on Logos Hope.\u201d The event is scheduled for August 14 from 6pm to 7:30pm, and tickets can be purchased on board during opening hours.<\/p>\n

Another highlight is the exclusive event \u2018Wonderfully Made\u2019, dedicated to the ladies on board, offering a time of encouragement and fellowship. This event will take place on Saturday, August 12, from 3pm to 5pm.<\/p>\n

Logos Hope\u2019s last visit to Seychelles was 8 years, in November 2015. Over the past 8 years, the ship has embarked on a global voyage, exploring regions in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. However, the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, temporarily halted the ship’s operations and restricted public access.<\/p>\n
