Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Musical education at the Perseverance secondary is set to get a big boost now that the school has received a set of musical instruments.<\/p>\n

The instruments comprising a guitar, drum set and keyboardhave been donated by Georgina Dhillon, the chief executive of the Rila Group.<\/p>\n

The Group ranks among the largest and fastest growing providers of medical and post-graduate education in the United Kingdom, delivering a wide range of educational projects internationally.<\/p>\n

Mrs Dhillon is also well known here as the founder of the Hall of Fame project in state schools.<\/p>\n

The instruments were handed over to the school\u2019s head teacher, Marie-Mai Ntep, in a ceremony held on Friday last week in the presence of teachers and students.<\/p>\n

The aim of the donation is to boost the performing arts in the curriculum and ignite an interest in music among the students.<\/p>\n

Music will allow the students to have more creative freedom and to express themselves in a number of ways, as well as boost their confidence.<\/p>\n

Studies have indicated that music is an extremely critical subject as it leads to better brain development, increases human connection, improves grades, helps to socialise, and even lowers stress levels.<\/p>\n

According to the school\u2019s management, the instruments will greatly benefit the students and allow them to participate in various local and cultural activities as well as competitions.<\/p>\n

Mrs Ntep thanked the sponsor for her generosity and invited more people within the community to come forward and give a helping hand in the education and development of the children.<\/p>\n
