Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Anse Boileau cre\u0300che held a short award ceremony on Wednesday afternoon to recognise the pupils who have participated in the \u2018On the Farm\u2019 project held for cre\u0300che year 2 pupils.<\/b><\/p>\n

A total of 64 children took part in the project and each received a certificate, but the best works out of each of the three classes were also rewarded.<\/p>\n

The pupils, with the help of their parents, were asked to create a project to reflect the theme \u2018On the Farm\u2019 that would be displayed in a small exhibition launched in the second trimester.<\/p>\n

Each term they are asked to focus on a topic and are taught all things related to it, including visits to farms for practical learning experience as well as watch educational videos.<\/p>\n

The project to build their own farm was a way to conclude the lesson and share what they have learned.<\/p>\n

Heloise Philoe came out first for the Year 2 Class 1, Dylandro Cherry was first for Class 2 and Ruth Finesse came out in first position for Class 3, and won Best Overall for all classes. There were also second and third place certificates given to students in each of the classes for their amazing work.<\/p>\n

San Finesse, Ruth\u2019s father, said that he is very happy for her as it is her first project at school.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a big achievement, because being a child, she loses concentration on her project pretty quickly and as the parent I have to be by her side. Maybe this achievement can motivate her to see that putting effort in something is worth it and she can thrive to do more in the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Although Ruth was a little shy to speak, she did nod yes when asked if she was happy to have obtained the certificate for best overall and if she will be participating in more projects.<\/p>\n

The head teacher, Sultane Jacqueline, said that it is very important to expose children at a very young age to the environment and the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is obvious to see that everything in nature attracts pupils, especially the younger ones and that is why we saw it fit to do this project related to animals, as it would capture their attention more,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

After the ceremony, the parents and their children were able to view the other work in the exhibition set up at the school.<\/p>\n
