Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>As an athlete, it is very important how you should approach the Indian Ocean Islands Games. Try your best to live in growth mindset rather than in a fix mindset.<\/b><\/p>\n

I present you with two powerful practical mental tools to help you during competition at the Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG).<\/p>\n

The reality you perceive is always the end product of your mindset.<\/b>
\nAre you a fix or growth mindset? <\/b><\/p>\n

Mindset should be considered the intangible X-factor that can strongly determine your competitive success or failure.<\/p>\n

Your mindset is the true reflection of who you are as a person. In other words, the personal qualities you possess and represent fully imbue your mental outlook.<\/p>\n

If you see yourself in a fix mindset everyday it is very important that you talk to your coach, mental coach, sports psychologist, counselor, medical personal and manager.<\/p>\n

They will help you toturn the negative thoughts into positive actions.<\/p>\n

Not every situation you will encounter at the IOIG will be positive. Trying to adopt a negative position towards everything, your mindset is going to set you up and you will fail. Athletes should try to make the best out of a bad situation or challenge.<\/p>\n

Avoid the following negatives challenges before and during the Games if they happen.<\/p>\n

Those mentioned challenges are not supposed to happen:<\/p>\n

Talk positively to yourself. Tell yourself you are mentally tough and ready to face those challenges. Those challenges should fuel your determination to win.<\/p>\n

It is very important that all athletes should try to develop a growth mindset.<\/p>\n

It is also very important that coaches should prepare their athletes to prevent everything that can lower their performance and losing before competition.<\/p>\n
