Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The International School Seychelles (ISS) came alive with the spirit of unity and peace as students and staff enthusiastically celebrated International Peace Day.<\/b><\/p>\n

The school organised a series of engaging activities that inspired creativity, harmony, and a sense of togetherness among the students.<\/p>\n

Primary activities:<\/b> As the sun rose on this special day, primary pupils kicked off the celebrations with a heartwarming activity. Each child wrote a peace message on a heart-shaped template and lovingly affixed it to a vibrant peace banner, which adorned the school’s lobby. This activity beautifully reflected the pupils\u2019 commitment to spreading messages of peace and unity.<\/p>\n

Year 3 and Year 4 students showcased their musical talents by learning and performing \u2018Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream\u2019 by Simon and Garfunkel. Their melodious rendition added a musical touch to the day’s festivities, leaving everyone inspired by their harmonious performance.<\/p>\n

The grand culmination of the primary activities was when the entire school gathered in the main play area, each class assembled with a letter drawn to spell out \u2018Peace Day\u2019.<\/p>\n

Secondary activities:<\/b> The secondary students at ISS engaged in creative activities that reflected their commitment to peace. They crafted beautiful peace doves, symbolising hope and unity. Additionally, they created intricate paper plate wreaths, showcasing their artistic talents while embodying the spirit of harmony.<\/p>\n

International Peace Day group photo:<\/b> In a heartwarming display of unity, the ISS staff joined together for a special group photo to commemorate International Peace Day. Dressed in white, they symbolised the commitment of the school community to promoting peace and harmony within and beyond the school walls.<\/p>\n

The International School Seychelles remains committed to fostering an environment where the values of peace, unity, and empathy are nurtured in every student. These International Peace Day activities served as a testament to the school’s dedication to these ideals.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur school values of respect and tolerance is one that we teach to our pupils at ISS. For a better world for our children, let us work together to create a better tomorrow and let each one of us become the ambassadors of peace on International Peace Day,\u201d said Elodie Vallantine, principal of ISS.<\/p>\n
