Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>In a heartwarming display of community and environmental consciousness, Eco-Club members from International School Seychelles (ISS) and the staff and students of the School for the Hearing Impaired came together as neighbours in the Mont Fleuri wetlands to undertake a collaborative clean-up effort.<\/b><\/p>\n

The joint initiative aimed to enhance the surrounding area and the nearby marsh while promoting environmental awareness and inclusivity.<\/p>\n

As residents of the Mont Fleuri area, ISS and the School for the Hearing Impaired recognised the importance of preserving the natural beauty of their shared environment. Together, they organised a successful clean-up event that left a lasting impact.<\/p>\n

During the clean-up, participants discovered a shocking amount of debris in the wetlands and marsh areas, which prompted a collective determination to restore the area to its natural state. The students from both schools, armed with litter pickers and a shared sense of responsibility, diligently collected litter and waste from the water and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

The clean-up efforts were not limited to the wetlands, as ISS students also joined forces with the young pupils of the School for the Hearing Impaired within their school compound. This collaboration between students of varying ages demonstrated the power of inclusivity and the importance of instilling environmental responsibility from an early age.<\/p>\n

Susan Ansell, a teacher and Eco-Club advisor at ISS, shared her thoughts on the initiative, stating, \u201cIt was truly heartwarming to see our students working hand in hand with students and staff from the School for the Hearing Impaired. This experience emphasised the significance of community, the environment, and the power of collective action.”<\/p>\n

Elodie Vallantine, principal of ISS, emphasised the importance of this partnership, stating, \u201cOur collaboration with the School for the Hearing Impaired for the ‘Clean-Up’ campaign reflects our shared commitment to inclusivity, education, and environmental stewardship. Together, we aim to create a positive impact and inspire others to do the same, we demonstrated that unity can lead to meaningful action.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clean-up event in the Mont Fleuri wetlands not only resulted in a cleaner and more beautiful environment but also fostered a sense of unity and cooperation among the participants.<\/p>\n

The Eco-Club and the School for the Hearing Impaired extend their gratitude to the Mont Fleuri community for their support and encouragement. This successful endeavour serves as a testament to the positive impact that collaborative efforts can have on the environment and the bonds of friendship that can be forged through shared experiences.<\/p>\n
