Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The new St Mary’s Hospital on La Digue is operational for all health services effective 8am today.<\/p>\n

In a press communique\u0301, the Ministry of Health has stated that the Logan Hospital will no longer provide health services once the new hospital opens.<\/p>\n

\u201cMembers of the public seeking any health services must report to the new hospital as of 8am Monday, October 23, 2023,\u201d read the statement.<\/p>\n

The telephone number, which has also been transferred to the new facility, remains unchanged.<\/p>\n

The new hospital was opened on August 15 by the head of state, President Wavel Ramkalawan, who described it as the most beautiful, modern and state-of-the-art hospital in the country at present.<\/p>\n

The facilities include labour room, surgery room, x-ray, ultrasound service, laboratory, and a hospice among others, where patients will be able to receive services such as consultation, dialysis, emergency care, pharmacy and clinical laboratory family health care as well as oral health care.<\/p>\n

The projectwas financed through a US $4 million donation from the United Arab Emirates government and R2 million from the La Digue Hospital Fund.<\/p>\n
