Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Lobesite has become a common enough topic nowadays. Many discussions are being held to try to find the best solutions to address this. Violence among children and young people is increasing and actions are being taken by the concerned authorities before this situation becomes more alarming. Among them is a national campaign against lobbying that was launched recently.<\/p>\n

Many key elements deserve to be taken into consideration during a struggle against this problem. This includes regular exercise, a balanced diet and of course discipline. We all have a role to play in this struggle.<\/p>\n

In order to make a contribution to this campaign, the National Council for Children (NCC) has organized a boot camp for children between 8 and 12 years old. This activity will be done for three Saturdays.<\/p>\n

The first session, which lasted for 1 hour, took place on Saturday at the Roche Caiman plain, near the Fitness Trail.<\/p>\n

This group of children came from four schools in the city area and the Pointe Larue primary school that decided to participate in this activity as well.<\/p>\n

Plaisance, Bel Eau, La Rosie\u0300re and Mont Fleuri were the primary schools that the council invited to participate.<\/p>\n

The aim was to show these children the importance and benefits of exercising as well as keeping a healthy life.<\/p>\n

Last Saturday, NCC is inviting parents to also attend this session with their children.<\/p>\n

The exercises were done through games to motivate the children to appreciate what they are doing.<\/p>\n

An officer at the council, Stella Dubel, who was one of the trainers at the session, pointed out that this is a way to sensitize parents and children about obesity.<\/p>\n

He added that sessions with nutritionists will be organized to give children and parents advice on healthy foods. And also a session to sensitize them on how to exercise.<\/p>\n

“These three Saturdays will be just a trial, and after that, the council will see the weak and then work on a formal program with the obese children where the key information about them such as their weight will be collected,” he added.<\/p>\n
