Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Seychelles Revenue Commission has announced the appointment of Gayathri Chetty as the commissioner of tax.<\/p>\n

Ms Chetty joined the Commission in March 2004 where she worked within the Audit department for 17 years as a senior audit officer prior to occupying supervisory and managerial roles within the same field.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Ms Chetty attained the position of director taxpayers services where amid the unprecedented times, together with her team remaining resilient, she played a pivotal part in ensuring business continuity in regards to registration of businesses, tax collection and processing of returns.<\/p>\n

\u201cSharing a wealth of experience and a vast knowledge in the domain of tax, exceeding more than 19 years, the new commissioner will play an important role in the strengthening of SRC\u2019s strategy towards tax laws and compliance, including the effective administration of the laws in line with the assessment and collections of all taxes to be remitted,\u201d stated the organisation in a press release.<\/p>\n
