Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>A prayer and reflection session was held by the Seychelles Interfaith Council of Seychelles yesterday at Rue Pierre de la Possession, at the National Museum of History. This vigil was dedicated to the victims of different wars around the world.<\/p>\n

SIFCO President Father Danny Elizabeth loudly declared \u201cWe have had enough of war. We want wars to stop and all tools of war to be transformed into tools of peace. Today, we think a lot about the victims of these wars, whether they come from any country. The victims are unfortunately most of the time women and children. In Seychelles, we want, like other countries, to call for a ceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n

The program, which ran from noon to 2 p.m., included prayers from different religions, lighting of candles as a sign of peace, reading of messages from world religious leaders and songs.<\/p>\n

Those gathered for this occasion came from different strata of the community, including ministers.<\/p>\n

The fundamental mission of SIFCO is to promote peace through fraternity and cooperation. This organization is committed to building bridges between religions, cultures and peoples, promoting mutual understanding and seeking peaceful solutions to national and global conflicts.<\/p>\n

SIFCO strongly believes in education as a powerful means of promoting peace. The organization aims to instill in younger generations the values of tolerance, respect and understanding.<\/p>\n

SIFCO does not carry out its mission alone, and it collaborates with the government and individuals sharing the same ideals of peace. This collaboration strengthens SIFCO\u2019s impact by enabling coordinated action on global issues.<\/p>\n
