World Fisheries Day provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the vital role that our oceans play in our lives and to recognise the importance of sustainable fishing practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeychelles, as an ocean state, understands the profound significance of our marine resources. Our fisheries sector is not just an integral part of our daily lives, but it also contributes significantly to our economy. Fishing is not merely an occupation; it is a way of life for many of our citizens, providing them with livelihoods and sustenance.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne cannot underestimate the economic impact of the fishing industry. It is a key driver of our nation’s foreign exchange earnings and a cornerstone of our economy.
