Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Health Care Agency, in the Ministry of Health, has announced there is an ongoing investigation concerning a recent outbreak of infections in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Seychelles Hospital.<\/p>\n

In a press release issued yesterday, the Health Care Agency said that in the past few weeks, they have observed an unexpected increase in severe infections among neonates in their care, regrettably resulting in deaths. \u201cThese events are deeply concerning to us, and our thoughts are with the families affected during this difficult time,\u201d read the statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of these infections. Our immediate response has included stringent enforcement of infection prevention and control protocols, thorough sanitization of the NICU area, and a detailed review of all clinical procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe assure the public that our dedicated team of healthcare professionals is working tirelessly to manage this situation,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
