Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Roche Caiman primary pupils and residents will now have better comfort while waiting for the bus, with the construction of a new spacious bus shelter, which was unveiled on January 2.<\/p>\n

The bus shelter has been funded and built by the G.S Pillay family and it was officially unveiled on the birthday of late GS Pillay, in the presence of his children, grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Mr Pillay, who passed away in 2014, would have been 94 years old.<\/p>\n

The project was facilitated by the Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA).<\/p>\n

The ceremony was in the presence of the Roche Caiman\u2019s member of the National Assembly, Audrey Vidot and the acting district administration officer, Maria Thomas, as well as representatives of the SLTA.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Seychelles NATION, MNA Vidot said when approached by the Pillay family to build a bus shelter in the district, they chose the location, which already had a waiting area but was way too small. \u201cWe requested they work on the one near the primary school, which was not only small but old and not convenient especially during rainy season,\u201d said MNA Vidot.<\/p>\n

She commended the GS Pillay\u2019s family for the infrastructure which she said would be so beneficial to the pupils and nearby residents and thanked the family for continuing their late father\u2019s tradition. The latter, who was a resident of Roche Caiman, was a regular contributor towards social projects and other development in the district.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is their way of honouring their late father and grand-father, by continuing his legacy and supporting the district.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family plans to make another donation once the school term resumes later this month to assist some pupils in need.<\/p>\n
