Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Electoral Commission has said it has commenced necessary procedures to cancel the registration of Independent Conservative Union of Seychelles (ICUS).<\/p>\n

The party was registered in 2015.<\/p>\n

However, due to continuous failure to comply with the provisions of the Political Parties Act, the commission gave its approval to cancel the registration of ICUS due to non-compliance to section 9(1)(d)(e) of the Act and the commission is satisfied that the party has ceased to exist.<\/p>\n

Pursuant to section 25(1) of the same Act, the commission has appointed a liquidator in which shall vest the assets of the party.<\/p>\n

The commission once more calls for compliance, with the Act governing political parties.<\/p>\n

At present there are seven registered political parties.<\/p>\n
