Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Green Island Construction Company (GICC) has officially handed over two newly completed condominium blocks of 10 units in Perseverance to 10 professionals and graduates.<\/p>\n

The owners received the keys to their two-bedroom apartment in a short ceremony held yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The keys were handed over by Vice-President Ahmed Afif, chief executive of the Island Development Company (IDC) Glenny Savy, and Minister for Land and Housing, Billy Rangasamy.<\/p>\n

The brief ceremony unfolded in unit GA1202 belonging to Vanessa Leon, who warmly welcomed everyone into her home with a radiant smile.<\/p>\n

In her speech on behalf of other new tenants, Ms Leon graciously expressed gratitude to all involved in turning their dreams into a reality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has made this momentous occasion possible. We are deeply thankful to GICC for their commitment and dedication,\u201d expressed Ms Leon.<\/p>\n

In her address, GICC\u2019s general manager, Angelique Antat, said the project is testament to a vision shared between IDC, GICC and the Ministry of Land and Housing to accommodate graduates and young Seychellois professionals in a suitable location.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope your home becomes a place where all your dreams come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the fourth block of two-bedroom constructed. In total 79 units have been built \u2013 40 apartments with two bedrooms, 20 apartments with three bedrooms, and 19 luxury apartments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next phase for this condominium project is to finish the last block of two bedrooms and all that is left is three blocks of three bedrooms and two blocks of luxury apartments,\u201d added Ms Antat.<\/p>\n

The new tenants also heard from an emotional Minister Rangasamy who expressed his excitement and gratitude at the completion of yet another phase of the project, which he said signifies the government\u2019s commitment to ensure that housing products reflect the various financial bids of their clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will never leave anyone behind,\u201d said the minister.<\/p>\n

He kindly asked other applicants in waiting to be patient and consistent with their monthly payments towards their housing saving scheme.<\/p>\n

The minister also noted that the number of applicants have always increased following each condominium allocation ceremony. \u201cApplicants are required to complete payment for the unit before construction starts,\u201d added the minister.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the government he thanked GICC for partnering with them. \u201cThis is a big support to the applicants who have been waiting for their house for many years,\u201d said Mr Rangasamy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want this project to become a reality in its totality by the end of 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the condominium units is being sold for R1.3 million, while construction cost comes to around R2 million.<\/p>\n
