Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The United States African Development Foundation has terminated $51 million in grants, the Department of Government Efficiency announced on Monday.<\/p>\n

DOGE, led by tech billionaire Elon Musk, is tasked with curbing abuse, fraud and waste in the expenditure of the United States Government.<\/p>\n

In a post on social network X on Monday, the department revealed the financial approvals now canceled by the U.S. African Development Foundation.<\/p>\n

The list includes $246,217 for mango drying facilities in the Ivory Coast; $229,296 for marketing 100% organic shea butter in Burkina Faso; $239,738 for marketing pineapple juice in Benin.<\/p>\n

Others are: $99,566 to increase yogurt production in Uganda; $84,059 for a business incubator for spa & wellness entrepreneurs in Nigeria; $48,406 for a WhatsApp marketing chatbot in Kenya; $50,000 to train farmers to grow dragon fruit in Senegal<\/p>\n

The USADF operates in 21 African countries, and has made investments in over 40 nations, assisting grassroots organizations, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises.<\/p>\n

The Foundation\u2019s beneficiaries, according to information on its website, comprise smallholder farmers, youths, women and girls, and people living with disabilities, among others.<\/p>\n
