{"id":44980,"date":"2026-04-10T20:18:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T20:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/src-enhances-audit-skills-via-tax-inspectors-without-borders"},"modified":"2026-04-10T20:20:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T20:20:06","slug":"src-enhances-audit-skills-via-tax-inspectors-without-borders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/seychelles\/all-news\/src-enhances-audit-skills-via-tax-inspectors-without-borders","title":{"rendered":"SRC Enhances Audit Skills via Tax Inspectors Without Borders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Seychelles, through the Seychelles Revenue Commission has launched its third Tax Inspectors Without Borders programme, a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations Development Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The one-year programme launched virtually on Tuesday, aims to further build the Seychelles Revenue Commission\u2019s (SRC) tax audit capacity in transfer pricing through hands-on technical help to improve taxpayer\u2019s compliance and domestic revenue mobilisation.<\/p>\n<p>Two tax experts from the Egyptian Tax Authority, a partner administration of the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) are currently in Seychelles to help the SRC with the technical know-how, transfer of knowledge and best-practices in transfer pricing audits.<\/p>\n<p>During the virtual launch, Ben Dickinson, deputy director of the Centre of Tax Policy and Administration at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), welcomed the delegates and underlined the initiative\u2019s commitment to strengthening tax administrations technical skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRobust technical expertise in international taxation and transfer pricing is critical, as it equips audit teams to identify high-risk transactions, enhance audit effectiveness, and safeguard countries\u2019 rightful revenues,\u201d Mr Dickinson stated.<\/p>\n<p>SRC\u2019s commissioner general, Varsha Singh, emphasised the importance of the programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership is central to our strategy to boost domestic resource mobilisation. By refining our expertise in audit, we are contributing to national development while fostering a culture of fair tax compliance,\u201d Mrs Singh said.<\/p>\n<p>Alka Bhatia, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) resident representative affirmed UNDP\u2019s \u201ccontinued commitment to supporting Seychelles advance fairness, equity and inclusivity in its approach to sustainable development\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the Tax Inspectors Without Borders initiative, UNDP is proud to support the Seychelles Revenue Commission strengthen national capacity to address complex tax issues, while reinforcing transparency, compliance, and sustainable public finance management,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The SRC started receiving technical support in transfer pricing from TIWB in 2021 with the government of India being the first partner administration, followed in 2024 by the TIWB Criminal Investigation (TIWB-CI) programme supported by Australia as the partner administration.<\/p>\n<p>TIWB-CI brought together key stakeholders within the financial sector under the concept of \u2018a whole government approach\u2019 to boost financial crimes investigation capabilities and enhance transparency.<\/p>\n<p>The TIWB programme plays a pivotal role in strengthening tax administration capacities, through their pool of qualified tax experts deployed to jurisdictions supporting real-case collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>The SRC remains thankful to TIWB, OECD and UNDP for the collaborations established and for the ongoing support to empower the Seychelles revenue administration to utilise its resources effectively, to expand its fiscal environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Seychelles<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Seychelles.
