On Tuesday March 22, 2022, at around 6pm, Mr Madeleine was relaxing with a beer at Gran Kaz in Victoria and decided to try his hand at the machines. Not a regular player, Mr Madeleine didn\u2019t think for a minute that he would be walking away later that night a millionaire.<\/p>\n

\u201cI rarely ever play the machines. I like to come to Gran Kaz for the atmosphere and to have a quiet drink sometimes, but I\u2019ve never really been much of a player. That night I decided to play a little just for fun and see what happened. I thought maybe perhaps I\u2019d win a few hundred rupees, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would win a million,\u201d Mr Madeleine admits.<\/p>\n

This is in fact the first ever million won on slot machines in the history of Gran Kaz, and of Seychelles as far as we know.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince we\u2019ve been open, this is the first million won on slots at our venues. Usually people walk away with jackpots varying from a few thousand to a few hundred thousand. In fact our biggest win before this one was R821,039. Mr Madeleine truly is a lucky man,\u201d says Shama Amesbury, PR and communications manager at Gran Kaz.<\/p>\n

At a small handover ceremony at Gran Kaz yesterday, Mr Madeleine thanked the Gran Kaz staff, saying it\u2019s the wonderful service he always receives that kept him coming back, so in a way, the staff were part of the reason he won.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always treated well at Gran Kaz. Staff are polite, efficient and extremely warm and friendly, which is why it is my preferred place to come and relax. If it wasn\u2019t for such great service perhaps I wouldn\u2019t keep coming back, and then I never would have won.\u201d<\/p>\n

We asked Ms Amesbury if there was any secret formula to winning big like Mr Madeleine and she had this to say:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a game of chance, there is no secret formula. Either you are lucky or you are not, which is why gaming is and should always remain a recreational activity. Of course when you play you always hope to win something, but trying to play as a source of income is something we discourage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gran Kaz puts a lot of emphasis on responsible gaming. \u2018Know your limit, play within it!\u2019 is its tagline, and it reminds all patrons to play only for fun and always be mindful of the amount of time and money they spend when in the casino.<\/p>\n

Mr Madeleine walked away with R1,091,113.00 and a smile on his face!<\/p>\n
