Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Pupils and students from all of the country\u2019s primary and secondary schools, along with other educational institutions will now have the opportunity to learn more on the transatlantic trade in enslaved Africans, including the untold sufferings and pain, as well as the stories of awe-inspiring courage and defiance against the cruelty of oppressors.<\/b><\/p>\n

This will be made possible through a travelling exhibition entitled \u2018Gardyen Nou Leritaz\u2019 \u2013 the history of slavery in Seychelles which is presently touring all the educational institutions.<\/p>\n

The tour began with the Bel Eau primary school yesterday where the exhibition will remain for three days before continuing its journey.<\/p>\n

Initially inaugurated last month at the National History Museum to commemorate International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the exposition is aimed at disseminating to students and teachers alike the aspect of history of slavery in Seychelles that has shaped our culture and heritage. It is also to make as many pupils and students as possible aware that our small island country was once upon a time a slave destination.<\/p>\n
