Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>The Supreme Court yesterday morning set December 1, 2022 as the date to start hearing the case of illegal possession of arms and ammunitions.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is to be recalled that the five accused in the case have pleaded not guilty to the accusations.<\/p>\n

The case together with that of the missing US $50 million were before the Supreme Court again yesterday morning and in the absence of Chief Justice Rony Govinden, Justice Mohan Burhan presided over both cases.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, also in relation to the case of illegal possession of arms and ammunitions, yesterday in court the second accused, Laura Valabhji, again complained that the concerned authorities are not respecting court orders in relation to meetings and everything she and her husband, Mukesh Valabhji need to help them prepare for their defence.<\/p>\n

She also complained that an order for a weekly phone call to their daughter who is studying abroad is not being respected.<\/p>\n

Justice Burhan has asked the prosecution to ensure that these orders are respected while advising Ms Valabhji to file a formal complaint through the court.<\/p>\n

With regards to the missing US $50 million case, the seven accused were also in court yesterday morning and have been remanded again until May 6 when they will reappear together with the accused in illegal possession of arms and ammunition case.<\/p>\n
