Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>\u2018Kreol Optic Seychelles\u2019, an eyewear shop situated at Kingsgate House which re-opened its doors end of January this year after being hit by Covid-19 in 2020, is now fully operational.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a recent interview, the co-owner of the commercial establishment, Lor\u00e9a Rassool said the business which first opened in May 2017, faced difficulties when the pandemic struck and the staff were affected.<\/p>\n

Ms Rassool recalled how by November 2020 the business found itself with no staff. She said it was then that they decided to close the store until the affected members of staff gradually recovered and came back.<\/p>\n

The shop which was closed for over a year, is now fully operational and also has its own optometrist who is providing eye testing services.<\/p>\n

Ms Rassool said this is a service they had been offering since the beginning. She highlighted that the idea of the shop is to cater for everyone even though they do not treat eye illnesses or other major related issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf any complications are detected then the optometrist will refer the individual to an ophthalmologist,\u201d Ms Rassool pointed out.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the glasses that \u2018Kreol Optic Seychelles\u2019 offers are made for kids, teenagers and adults and they also have sunglasses as well as prescription glasses. Ms Rassool said they used to have a camp whereby they visited work places and perform eye testing services for the whole department. She stressed that because they have only two staff at the moment they are currently unable to provide this service.<\/p>\n

She went on to emphasisethat they re-opened because they never wished to close down in the first place and that their staff were stuck abroad. The restrictions made it difficult therefore they closed the shop because they did not have a choice.<\/p>\n

Clients can have their eyes checked and obtain glasses of their choice at the eyewear shop,with prices ranging from R399 to R1,299 and they work by colour coding.<\/p>\n

Clients and other buyers can check out eyewear in their price range by identifying the stickers on the glasses. Customers do not have to make appointment but can walk into the shop at any given time.<\/p>\n

Ms Rassool stated that people can make arrange to pay in installments just like they used to do before but they have to make a small deposit. They can also bring their frames to have their glasses made regardless of where they bought it. The eyewear shop can also be accessed via instagram, facebook and WhatsApp.<\/p>\n
