Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>SCAA, Raffles Seychelles winners<\/b><\/p>\n

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and Raffles Seychelles have won the Seychelles Human Resource Development awards for the public and private sector respectively.<\/p>\n

Organised by the Agency for National Human Resource Development (ANHRD), the prize-giving ceremony took place yesterday morning at the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (Site).<\/p>\n

The award is aimed at recognising workplaces with good human development practices that boost employee productivity and encouragestaff retention. The ANHRD acknowledges the importance of giving credit to organisations that are showcasing these good practices.<\/p>\n

The Seychelles Human Resource Development (SHRD) is also used to identify organisations that require assistance in setting up mechanisms that aim at aiding them perform better, improve productivity and have a conducive work environment.<\/p>\n

In total there were eight participants in the programme and ANHRD\u2019s senior human resourceand budget management officer, Sheryl Victorsaid \u201cthe development of human resource which is part of ANHRD\u2019s mandate enables employees to improve their personal and organisational skills, knowledge and abilities which in turn improve the organisations\u2019 effectiveness and performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The competition was launched in 2019 for a period of two years to evaluate the organisations\u2019 workplaces.<\/p>\n

Nadia Lauricourt, chief executive of ANHRD, said there are various criteria for best practices and how this will aid the organisation and others. The best practices vary in terms of staff development, recruitment and more.<\/p>\n

The overall winner for the public sectoris the SCAA with Seychelles Pension Fund as the runner-up. Raffles Seychelles Resort is the overall winner in the private sector and Absa Bank Seychelles Limited the runner-up.<\/p>\n

The different winners for each category are as follows: Seychelles Pension Fund won two awards \u2012 Excellence in employee development and Excellence in employee engagement; Absa Bank Seychelles Limited also clutched two wins \u2012 Excellence in graduate development and Excellence in HR technologies; the Ministry of Education won the Excellence in leadership; SCAA received the Excellence in performance management; and Kempinski Seychelles clutched the Excellence in recruitment and retention strategy.<\/p>\n

HR manager for SCAA, Samantha Amice said \u201cthe award means a lot for the organisation. It is an achievement and shows that the organisation is heading in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currently SCAA has about 745 staff.<\/p>\n

Beverly Rose, HR manager for Raffles Resort Seychelles,said winning the award in the private sector category represents a big accomplishment and shows the hard work they are doing to maintain their workers and welfare of their staff.<\/p>\n

This is the first time Raffles Resort Seychelles participates in the competition and Ms Rose said they place a lot of emphasis on training, welfare and benefits.<\/p>\n
