Africa-Press – Seychelles. <\/strong><\/span>Finals slated for Saturday<\/b><\/p>\n

The women\u2019s, men\u2019s division two and men\u2019s division one finals of the Curtain-raiser tournament will be played on Saturday May 14 at Victoria Gymnasium following the taking place of the semifinals last weekend.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s final is between Mont Fleuri and Anse Etoile Stars at 3.45pm.<\/p>\n

While the Stars did not have to break a sweat to book their place in the final as they walked over B Challenge, Mont Fleuri met HotShots and they came out victorious on a 55-27 score.<\/p>\n

Only four women\u2019s teams registered for the competition and they were divided into two groups of two. Winners of the two group games faced the losers in the cross knockout semifinals.<\/p>\n

In pool A, Anse Etoile Stars beat Mont Fleuri 73-47, while Anse Boileau-based HotShots walked over B Challenge in pool B.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s division two final at 2pm, Anse Etoile will meet Cascade Bullets.<\/p>\n

In last weekend\u2019s semifinals, Anse Etoile beat Praslin Boys 76-63 and Cascade Bullets eliminated AB Boys on a 61-48 score.<\/p>\n

Cascade Bullets booked their place in last Sunday\u2019s division two semifinal with AB Boys after defeating Baba 70-44. With two wins in as many matches in group B, the Bullets finished on top with 4 points.<\/p>\n

As for AB Boys, they won group C after twice beating Anse Royale 61-25 and 67-33.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Praslin Boys won their two matches in group A against St Louis Saints (52-33) and MBU Boys (58-52), while Anse Etoile met PLS Suns twice in pool D and won 52-47 and 66-34.<\/p>\n

At 5.30pm on Saturday, PLS Hawks will clash with Premium Cobras in the men\u2019s division one final.<\/p>\n

In last weekend\u2019s semifinals, PLS Hawks beat Beau Vallon Heat 67-59 and Premium Cobras edged Baya 65-60.<\/p>\n

In two group stage, the Hawks collected two victories against Premium Cobras (53-46) and Mont Fleuri Dawgz (57-38) to finish first with 4 points in group A to set up a semifinal showdown with group B runners-up Beau Vallon Heat whose only win came against Drifters on a 86-66 score. They lost their other match to Baya (60-73).<\/p>\n

Baya\u2019s win against Beau Vallon Heat was their only victory in the group stage as they lost 71-77 to Drifters, meaning all three teams in group B finished with 3 points.<\/p>\n

On the head to head rule, Baya were ranked first, followed in second place by Beau Vallon Heat. In fact the two teams were tied on basket difference \u2012 7 \u2012 (144 for and 137 against for Baya) and (146 for and 139 against for Beau Vallon Heat). As a result, basket average was used to separate them \u2012 Baya 1.051 compared to the Heat\u2019s 1.05.<\/p>\n

Drifters had to settle for third place with a basket difference of -14 (134 for and 157 against).<\/p>\n
